Confession | The Corporate Disciplines
04.12.26
This weekend, Jaclyn talked about the Corporate Spiritual Discipline of Confession and its role in bringing healing and freedom. Like in the courtrooms, confession doesn’t create guilt, it acknowledges it somehow leads to mercy. In the same way, God already knows our sin, but invites us to confess it both to Him and to others so we can walk in the light. In James 5, we learned that confession is meant to happen in community and is connected to restoration and wholeness. We also saw in Acts 19 that true confession leads to repentance, which requires turning away from sin in a tangible and sometimes costly way. Ultimately, while forgiveness comes through Jesus, confession restores our intimacy with God and breaks the power of hidden sin.
