The angel Gabriel appeared to Mary to tell her she had been graced with the calling of carrying the Savior of the World in her womb. She fulfilled the prophecy that the Messiah would be born of a virgin. Despite all adversaries and the risks associated with conceiving a child before marriage at that time, she responded with “I am the Lord’s Servant.” Mary was unprepared, but faithful as she waited for the Messiah to come. We are waiting for Christ to come again, and it’s important we prepare ourselves for His coming, and step into whatever calling He has for us. We must wait well, for it is not something we can control.
