We started a new series with Joseph, the son of Jacob. Joseph was his father’s favorite son and had very vivid dreams that he would interpret for himself and others. One of his dreams was about his family bowing down to him, and his brothers hated him. They plotted to kill Joseph and then decided to sell him to the Ishmaelites. They then dipped his robe in blood to trick his father about Joseph’s disappearance. This story has a lot of similarities to Jesus’ story as well. His brothers needed a scapegoat, and blamed it on the “ferocious animal” that took Joseph.
