What We Cannot See | Genesis Vol. 2

11.02.25

Nicholas Hect

When Rebekah was pregnant with twins, Jacob and Esau, God revealed to her that the older will serve the younger and he will continue the lineage. We see in this story that Jacob wants the birthright, and Esau was quick to give it up simply at the desire of getting a meal. Isaac, his father, cannot see and when he is on his deathbed, he goes to bless who he thinks is Esau, but is Jacob. Esau plans to kill Jacob. Jacob has a vision where God reveals himself as the God of his ancestors. We see that Jacob was blind to God’s grand plan and his eyes were finally open.
